Manchester City will be without star striker, Sergio Aguero in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The City boss, Pep Guardiola confirmed the Argentine is “not ready” for the crucial game at home against the champions.

Aguero missed the start of the season with a knee injury and then suffered a muscle setback just a week into his return.

However, Gabriel Jesus looks set to fill the void after the Brazilian returned in midweek with a goal in the Champions League victory over Olympiacos and could be in the starting lineup for Sunday’s cracker.

Both teams will head into the game with so much respect following their recent dominance in the English Football.

Guardiola has agreed with Jurgen Klopp that the fixture between City and Liverpool is “the most difficult game in the world of football”.

Asked whether he agreed with the Liverpool manager’s statement, Guardiola said: “Absolutely. Not all the time – but 90 or 95% of the time – I agree with Jurgen.”

Liverpool tops the table with 16 points, five points clear of City having played a game more.

The City boss believes Liverpool remains the favourites to win the title but insist that Leicester, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have shown they are capable of mounting a challenge.
