Two Nigerians singers, Omah Lay and Tems,who were earlier detained in Uganda for violating COVID-19 protocols, have finally arrived Nigeria.
The chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, broke the news in a Twitter thread on Thursday.
According to her, the two singers arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at about 12:35 pm.
“Stanley Omah Didia (@Omah_Lay), Temilade Openiyi (@temsbaby), Muyiwa Ayoniyi and others just landed at the MMIA Lagos from Uganda via Ethiopia Airline at about 12:35 pm local time. We are glad they are finally home,” she wrote.

She also appreciated the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Nigerian mission in Uganda and the Ugandan government for promptly reaching a common ground on the matter.
“Alls well that ends well. Gratitude to Min @GeoffreyOnyeama, our mission in Uganda and the @GovUganda for a quick resolution,” she added.
The development comes about two days after the singers regained freedom from detention in Uganda.
Omah Lay and Tems were arrested alongside four other Ugandans over their involvement in an unauthorised concert that held on Saturday night in Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City.
The pair and the four Ugandans were thereafter remanded in police custody after they were arraigned before a court.
Their detention had sparked outrage with many Nigerians condemning the treatment of their fellow compatriots in another country.
