Napoli forward has returned positive for coronavirus, his Italian club confirmed on Friday evening.
Osimhen had just recovered from the shoulder injury which sidelined him for weeks during his international duty with the Super Eagles in November.
However, the Nigeria international, who headed to Italy for Christmas after a successful surgery returned a positive test on Friday.
“The SSCN reports that footballer Victor Osimhen tested poditive for the molecular naso-pharyngeum on his return from abroad yesterday afternoon. The player is asymptomatic and has not met the team group,” a statement from the club read.
