A Premier League club, Southampton, has sacked their manager, Russell Martin.
Martin’s dismissal followed a series of defeats, with the latest being a 5-0 thrashing by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday night.
Martin guided the Saints to promotion last year in his first season in charge.
However, the defeat against Spurs at home was Southampton’s 13th loss in the league this season from 16 games.
Southampton’s only win this campaign was against Everton in November 2024.
They currently occupy the bottom position on the Premier League table.
Before the Saints’ latest action, Wolves parted ways with their manager, Gary O’Neil, and his backroom staff.
O’Neil was sacked after Wolves’ 2-1 Premier League defeat to Ipswich Town at home on Saturday.
