There are indications that French Ligue one side FC, Lorient have turned down the fifth bid of rival OGC Nice for Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi.
The latest development is reportedly happening days after the left-footed attacker rejected a move to Olympique Marseille despite Lorient agreeing to the move.
The Moffi saga has lasted almost the entire window.
Initially, Nice were rivalled by Premier League clubs West Ham United and Southampton.
However, another interest has waned as reports revealed that the Nigerian striker’s preference was to remain in Ligue 1.
Whilst Moffi has agreed to join Nice, no agreement between the clubs have been reached, despite the offer of €23 million.
The Riviera club are now readying a sixth offer, and are confident that it will be closer to the demand of €30m Lorient are asking for.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s and Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman, has insisted that he will soon catch up with his compatriot and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on top of the scorer’s chat.
The Napoli forward is presently the leading scorer in the Italian Serie A with 13 goals, two more than the Atalanta star who has 11 so far in the league.
While speaking to England news outlet Athletic, Lookman maintained the belief that he will soon catch up with Osimhen.
