While commissioning the workshop, Engr. Wabote said Hydroserve Oil Services Ltd began operations as an indigenous company in 2000 in the Niger Delta and identified a demand in the market for a nimble and innovative service provider, capable of quality and superior service delivery to the oil and gas industry.

According to him, the company had highly trained professionals and quality equipment, adding that Hydroserve has since grown from being a local indigenous company into an international company with subsidiaries in countries in the West African region.

The local content chieftain pointed out that Hydroserve Base 3 has shown resilience and was steadily making its mark in the provision of top-notch drilling and well services to diverse clientele in the oil and gas industry such as Pumping Services, Brine Filtration, Well Services, and Cementing Services.

He expressed optimism that the addition of the new workshop will enhance the company’s operational efficiency to provide superior service delivery to all its customers, stressing that the Board is proud to identify with Hydroserve for its offering of world class services, especially in the drilling and well services specialties to the oil and gas industry of the economy without compromising standards and safety.

Speaking further, Engr. Wabote noted that under the visionary leadership of the company’s CEO, Engr. Funsho Oluwagbenro, Hydroserve Oil Services Limited continues to prove that Nigerian-grown businesses, when supported can contribute significantly to the growth of the Nigerian Oil & Gas sector while constantly exceeding her clients’ expectations.

The Nigerian Content Chieftain called on other oil and gas service providers to emulate Hydroserve in their focus, dedication, and continuous evolution, pointing out that just like the Local Content journey, growth is not a quick dash but something that must be worked on steadily till full rewards are realized.

He also expressed hope that the company will achieve its vision statement, which is ‘To be a West African Conglomerate Leading by Product and Services’, noting that it tallies with one of the strategic pillars under the NCDMB’s 10-year Strategic Roadmap, which is ‘Sectorial and Regional Markets Linkages’.

Engr. Wabote commended Nigerian oil and gas service companies for the crucial roles they have continued to play in the provision of services for the sustenance and growth of the industry.

He informed that about 9,000 service companies are registered in the NCDMB’s NOGIC-JQS and they offer diverse services including Engineering, Fabrication, Procurement, Drilling Services, Logistics, Exploration and Seismic services, Installation and Commissioning, Inspection and Testing, Project Management, Finance and Insurance, and many others as listed in the Schedule of NOGICD Act (2010).

The Executive Secretary commended the efforts of the Rivers State Government in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, reiterating that Rivers State continues to host the largest concentration of oil and gas service providers in Nigeria.

Engr. Wabote also appreciated the international oil companies and other service companies for their support in the success of Hydroserve, maintaining that their patronage, partnerships, and considerations have enabled the company to get to this point on its journey to drilling and wells services.
