In a sudden decision, President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate reopening of Nigeria’s borders with Niger, lifting all sanctions against the country.
The swift measures include the reopening of land and air borders between Nigeria and Niger, along with the lifting of the ECOWAS no-fly zone on commercial flights to and from Niger Republic.
Resuming all commercial and financial transactions between Nigeria and Niger, unfreezing service transactions, including utility services and electricity to Niger Republic. Unfreezing assets of the Republic of Niger in ECOWAS Central Banks and commercial banks, including state enterprises and parastatals.

Restoring Niger’s access to financial assistance and transactions with institutions like EBID and BOAD. Revoking travel bans on government officials and their family members.
Additionally, President Tinubu has granted approval for the removal of financial and economic sanctions imposed on the Republic of Guinea.
