Organisers have announced the postponement of the inaugural West African Football Union (WAFU) A&B U-20 Boys Cup of Nations.
The tournament was initially scheduled in Ghana from June 15 to 30, 2025.
This was disclosed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a letter addressed to participating nations.
Part of the letter reads, “We regret to announce that the WAFU A&B U-20 Boys Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Prampram from June 15-30, 2025, has been postponed. A new date for the tournament will be announced in due course.
“The tournament’s rescheduling aims to ensure the best possible conditions for a successful event.
“We are committed to delivering an exciting competition for all participants.”
The GFA also urged all participating teams, officials, and stakeholders to remain patient and to monitor official communication platforms for updates regarding the revised schedule.
Sixteen national teams from WAFU Zones A and B were set to compete in the tournament.
Nigeria’s U20 team, FIFA World Cup-bound side, was already in camp preparing for the competition before the postponement announcement reared up.
