Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as “Tems”, has become the first Nigerian artist to receive an Oscar nomination for her song, ‘Lift me up’.
The song was written by Temilade Openiyi, Ludwig Goransson, Rihanna, Robyn Fenty, Ryan Coogler and was produced by Ludwig Goransson.
It served as the lead single from the soundtrack of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, in the ‘Best Original Song’ category of the 2023 Academy Awards held on January 24, 2023.
The 2023 Oscar award is set to hold on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theater. It will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, who is a comedian and talk show host.
Voting for the 2023 Oscars will run from March 2 – 7, 2023.
