Former U.S. President Donald Trump has returned to X, previously known as Twitter, after a two-year absence.
His first tweet featured a mugshot taken during his time at Fulton County Jail on Thursday evening.
This marks his return to X after his 2021 ban for violating the platform’s guidelines.
Trump posted the mugshot along with the caption ‘ELECTION INTERFERENCE NEVER SURRENDER.’ The post also had a link to his website.
The post has garnered over 100 million views and received hundreds of thousands of replies and reposts.

Twitter banned the former American president for using the platform to incite his followers to storm the U.S. Capitol in January 2021.
His claims of electoral fraud following his election defeat were deemed baseless.
However, following Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion in October, the ban was lifted.
Musk, a proponent of free speech, reinstated Trump’s account in November 2022.
Despite Musk’s efforts, Trump had refrained from rejoining the social network.
Trump, who had already launched his own social network called Truth Social, had chosen to bypass Twitter and communicate through his own platform.
Despite facing numerous legal challenges, including allegations of paying hush money to a porn star, mishandling classified documents, and attempting to undermine the 2020 elections, Trump remains steadfast and resolute in his ambition to run for the 2024 presidential election.
