The battle for supremacy did not favour either of the sides as Tunisia held Nigeria to a draw in an international friendly played at Jacques Leman’s Arena in Austria, The Heritage Times reports.
Having lost the first friendly encounter to Algeria on Friday, the Gernot Rohr’s men sought for redemption but the Carthage Eagles had a different plan after all.
Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho had put the Super Eagles in front after nice turn in the box. Only to have failed to register a brace nine minutes later when he missed a penalty kick.
The first half ended in 1-1 draw with the Super Eagles gaining more possession of the ball.
The second half resumed with both side looking dangerous in front of goal.
Debutants Cyril Dessers and Bright Ejuke came off the bench for Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze who were not having a smooth ride penetrating the Tunisian defensive wall.
The Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be back in action in November when they face Leone stars of Sierra Leone in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
