His international teammate Joe Aribo also featured for the entire duration as Sweden defender Filip Helander netted the winning goal for Rangers in the 67th minute.

In England, the Nigerian trio of William Troost-Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo and Emmanuel Dennis all saw action for 90 minutes as Watford fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League.

Etebo caught the eye with his impressive performance for the Hornets in the game, but Watford were condemned to their second straight defeat of the season.

Second-half substitute, Kelechi Iheanacho went on another game without a goal to his name this campaign despite Leicester City bouncing back to winning ways with a 2-1 result against Norwich City on Saturday.

Coach Brendan Rodgers once again put the Nigerian on the bench as he preferred to start with veteran striker Jamie Vardy.

However, in the midfield, his compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi, who retained his role in the middle of the park saw all 90 minutes.

In France, Terem Moffi played the entire 90 minutes as his assist ensure Lorient pick up a vital away point against Lens in Sunday’s Ligue 1 game.

Moffi’s assist set up his teammate, Thomas Monconduit in the 35 minute to score the second goal after Laurients had leveled score for the visiting team.

Taiwo Awoniyi continued with his red-hot form in the German Bundesliga after he netted his third goal of the season to help Union Berlin edged Monchengladbach 2-1 on Sunday.

Awoniyi has now scored a goal in each of Union Berlin’s opening three games in the league.
