Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bala Bello, and all 23 commissioners with immediate effect.
He has also suspended the Emir of Dansadau in Maru Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Hussaini Umar as well as the District Head of Nasarawa Mailayi in Birnin Magaji Local Government, Alhaji Bello Wakkala.
According to a statement issued via his Twitter Handle @bellomatawalle1, on Tuesday, the sacked commissioners have been ordered to hand over affairs of their ministries to their respective permanent secretaries, except that of the ministry of security and home affairs.
Chairmen of commissions and boards are hereby directed to handover to their most senior directors. The Head of service is to oversee the office of the SSG. Furthermore, The Emir of Dansadau is under investigation. Consequently, he is suspended with immediate effect.

It also noted that “the district head of Dansadau, Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad S/Kudu will oversee the affairs of Dansadau emirate pending the outcome of an investigation.”
Although the statement did not give reasons behind the sack and suspension, Heritage Times gathered Alhaji Hussaini Umar, the Emir of Dansadau in Maru LGA of the state was suspended for his alleged involvement in banditry.

“The State Executive council is hereby dissolved with immediate effect. The Secretary to the State Government, Chief of staff and Deputy chief of staff are relieved of their duties. All chairmen, members of the state commission and boards of various agencies are hereby dissolved.
“Chairmen of commissions and boards are hereby directed to handover to their most senior directors. The Head of service is to oversee the office of the SSG. Furthermore, The Emir of Dansadau is under investigation. Consequently, he is suspended with immediate effect.
“The district head of Dansadau is to oversee the affairs of the emirate. The district head of Nassarawa Mailayi is also suspended with immediate effect.
