According to the Swedish coastguard, the Nord Stream 2 leak was discovered earlier this week, which notified the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper.

It comes after discovering three other leaks on the pipelines, which connects Russia with Germany and are thought to have resulted from sabotage.

According to Jenny Larsson, a coastguard spokesperson, ‘two of these four are located in Sweden’s exclusive economic zone.’

The other two are in the economic zone of Denmark.

According to authorities, the mines might have been thrown over a boat, lowered on a long line, or planted adjacent to the pipelines using an underwater drone.

The European Union also thinks that sabotage is to blame for the leaks.

Russian officials have called the charges that they are to blame “expected” and “dumb.”
Both lines were full of gas, leaking into the water even though they weren’t being used at the time of the alleged explosions.

Before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Germany’s refusal to grant a permit, Nord Stream 2, which runs from Russia to Germany, was scheduled to transport gas to Europe.

The first leak was discovered on Monday morning, some 23 kilometres (14 miles) southeast of Bornholm Island in Denmark.

The parallel Nord Stream 1 pipe experienced two additional leaks on Tuesday, and today the Swedish coastguard confirmed that there were four leaks.

According to Sweden’s national seismology centre, “strong undersea bursts” were observed near the leaks.

In reaction, Norway declared that its armed forces would be more noticeable at its oil and gas facilities.

The destruction of the pipes was “planned, not an accident,” according to Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, and it should worry all of Europe.

“This is unprecedented – we haven’t seen that level of attack or sabotage on crucial European energy infrastructure,” he told News Correspondents.

We take this extremely seriously; we are closely collaborating on it with friends in the EU and NATO.

Before assigning blame, Mr Kofod emphasized that giving investigators time to do their work was crucial.
