The Federal Government is perfecting plans to re-open land borders soon.
The borders were closed since August 2019 to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into country from neighbouring West African nations.
Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, gave the hint on Wednesday while speaking to State House correspondents.
According to her, the presidential committee set up on the matter has completed its job and has recommended its reopening.
Ms. Ahmed who further said the committee would soon submit its report to President Muhammadu Buhari, did not reveal when the report will be submitted and how soon the land borders will be reopened.

It would recall that Nigeria closed its land borders last year, in a bid to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into the country from neighbouring West African nations.
The move led to a hike in food prices and caused untold hardships on Nigerians.
With the projected re-opening Nigerians can hope for a fall in the price of food items and reduction in food scarcity.
