Egyptian tech company WideBot has announced the development of an Arabic version of the ChatGPT model, backed by a $4 million investment aimed at expanding AI solutions in the region.
According to Mohamed Nabil, Founder and CEO of WideBot, the company is creating a new large language model (LLM) that supports multiple Arabic dialects, addressing a significant gap in the AI landscape.
Current AI models often fail to cater to the linguistic diversity of Arabic-speaking countries, but WideBot’s breakthrough model is designed to bridge that gap.
The project, slated for completion by the end of 2024, will benefit industries such as banking, healthcare, communications, and government services, allowing enterprises across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to engage more effectively with AI-powered solutions.
“We’ve surpassed all existing Arabic language models, pushing the boundaries of AI in the region. This new development will transform how businesses in the MENA region interact with artificial intelligence,” Nabil told Al Arabiya Business.
WideBot’s Arabic LLM can process and generate text in dialects like Egyptian, Saudi, and Emirati, offering a more personalized and effective communication tool for businesses and governments.
The company’s commitment to providing innovative AI solutions is set to strengthen its presence in regional markets, enhancing the adoption of AI across the Arab world.
