Manchester United stumbled on Saturday night in their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, with the latter taking the day.
Forest won 3-2 at Old Trafford.
Nikola Milenkovic, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Chris Wood were on target for Forest, while Rasmus Højlund and Bruno Fernandes struck back for the visitors.
Forest held firm to move into the top five, two points off the top four, while United stay in 13th.
Amorim has won only one of his four league games in charge.
Their 19 points from 15 games is United’s lowest tally at this stage of a season since 1986-87.
Meanwhile, the chances of Manchester City defending their Premier League title continue to get slimmer after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s men came into the game on the back of a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
The result means City remain in fourth place, one point behind Arsenal and Chelsea, who both play tomorrow. They are a further eight points off leaders Liverpool, whose game at Everton was called off.
On the other hand, Brentford beat Newcastle 2-1.
