Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has now returned to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Pinnick, 54, who had been out of CAF following his defeat in the last executive committee election, has been announced as the Special Adviser to CAF President, Patrice Motsepe.
The appointment was revealed during CAF’s Executive Committee meeting held in Rabat, Morocco, and was immediately ratified.
With his new role, Pinnick will now participate in CAF’s Executive Committee meetings, offering strategic counsel to the CAF President on key matters affecting African football.
Pinnick, who recently lost his seat on the FIFA Council, was the third Nigerian to serve on FIFA’s highest decision-making body after Oyo Orok Oyo and Amos Adamu.
His appointment is widely seen as a recognition of his long-standing contributions to the growth and development of football across the continent.
