Winners of the just concluded season Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Remo Stars, are now smiling to the banks after the club owner Kunle Soname rewarded them with $17,000, equivalent to N25 million.
Soname, who also owns another male team – Beyond Limits Football Academy – and female side – Remo Stars Ladies – gave them $10,000, equivalent of N15 million, in recognition of their remarkable achievements during the 2024/25 season.
The donations were announced during the Remo Stars Championship Gala, which held in Ogun State.
Remo Stars made history by winning their first-ever NPFL title, while the women’s team, Remo Stars Ladies, were also honoured for their impressive campaign in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), where they secured a spot in the NWFL Super 6.
Beyond Limits Football Academy, a rising force in youth football, was rewarded in recognition of their domestic success and international triumph at the prestigious Gothia Cup, held in Sweden this month, a testament to the club’s strong youth development programme.
Heritage Times HT reports that Soname gifted Adedayo Olamilekan, the club’s Best Player of the Season, a brand-new car, a well-deserved reward for his standout performances during the club’s historic campaign.
