Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has expressed displeasure over the signing of Antoine Griezmann, citing that the French man should not have bought by the Catalan giants.
Griezmann, who has been struggling for form joined Barcelona in the summer of 2019 from Atlectico Madrid.
In addition to his drop in form, reports have further emerged that the World Cup winner is having bumpy relationship with with Lionel Messi.
Font, who is vying for the much coveted position at the club following Josep Bartomeu’s decision to step down explained his desire to bring Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez back to Camp Nou as the side’s boss if elected on January 24.
”Griezmann was a signing that shouldn’t have been made.” Font told Daily Mail
”If Xavi asked me to sign Sergio Ramos and it was economically viable, I would sign him.” Antoine Griezmann spent five years at Atletico Madrid where he scored 94 goals in 180 games before he departed the side.
Antoine Griezmann has played 42 games so far scoring 11 goals for the Catalans. He has also played 86 games for the French national team and has scored 33 goals since 2014.
