Nigerian international Victor Boniface on Saturday night netted his fourth goal in the new season on a day his Club Bayer Leverkusen squandered a two-goal lead against Hostiel Kiel in a German Bundesliga match.
Boniface would have registered two goals in his name but his second goal in the 28th minute was disallowed inside the Bay Arena.
In all, the free-scoring player has scored a total of six goals in all competitions for his club so far in the early season.
In the English Premier League, Liverpool made it seven wins in seven matches this season after they edged Crystal Palace 1-0.
The match outcome means they have conceded fewest goals after seven games with just two and have kept five clean sheets.
