Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has said Ivorian and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba inspired his style of play.
The 21-year-old striker bought from Ligue 1 side, Lille for a club record of 70 million Euros revealed in an interview recently posted by the club on Twitter that Drogba is someone he idolized ever since he watched him play.
“Drogba is someone I look up to. A man asked me who I played like and I said I didn’t know. He asked me to go to YouTube and check out Drogba and that was where I fell in love with the kind of player and man he is. He has added a lot to my game that is helping me out till today,” he said.
Osihmen was outstanding last season for Lille; scoring a total of 18 goals in all competitions for Les Dogues. His performance captured the attention of top European clubs. However, Napoli became a preferred destination. A move he said was a dream come true having experienced early challenges in his career.
He also revealed his dream to win the African Footballer of the year award while insisting he has a long way to go in turning that dream to a reality.
