A Fuel tanker explosion has occurred at Igbelajewa area, along Ilesa-Akure expressway in Osun State.
No fewer than 20 people are believed to have died from the inferno which destroyed eight vehicles.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Public Relations Officer of the FRSC, Mrs Agness Ogungbemi said the explosion occurred when the driver of a MACK Tanker loaded with diesel lost the control of the vehicle and fell on the busy road.
The spokesperson who said the exact number of those killed and injured were uncertain, added that those who sustained injury have been rushed to RTC Clinic, Ipetu-Ijesa and Wesley Hospital, Ilesa for medical treatment.
