Nigerian-New Zealand fighter Israel Adesanya on Sunday morning April 9, 2023, beat his opponent Alex Pereira in a knockout fashion at UFC 287.
The specutalar victory ensured that Adesanya won back his middleweight title.
Adesanya also known as ‘The Last Stylebender’, produced a brutal second-round knockout to seal a victory over the Brazilian fighter and take back the title that he lost in November last year.
Following Adesanya’s second kickboxing defeat in 2017, he transitioned full-time to MMA, where he went on to become UFC middleweight champion in 2019 and dominate the division for three years, defending the unified belt five times.
Adesanya eventually became victorious after both fighters met four times.
The opening five minutes of the fight had been dominated by calf-kicks and jabs, mainly from Pereira, as both fighters tried to find their distance inside the octagon.
