The football-crazy former governor had made ceaseless investment in football over the years.

However, his attention has shifted to the foreign scene, where he hopes to replicate the successes.

“Our succeses with Enyimba football club between 2003 – 2007 has continuously increased my passion for football,” Kalu said via his Facebook page. “I am considering an investment in football and I will buy 35 per cent stake in Arsenal.”

“Our target is to lift the Champions League and lift the Premier League back to back like we did in Enyimba,” he added.
