Gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, on Saturday launched another attack on Odoro Ikpe Police Station, in Ini LGA of Akwa Ibom State.
Six officers on duty were said to have been killed in the attack which took place in the early hours of Saturday in a local police station in Ini Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday when people were still sleeping.
Confirming the attack, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Odiko S. Ogbeche was unable to give details of the incident.
He however noted that the Commissioner of Police was already at the scene for an on the spot assessment.
