Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems has taken the top spot on the Billboard Next Big Sound Chart, a weekly chart of the fastest rising artists across the internet.
The Nigerian singer beat competition from Korean girl group, Fromis 9 and Cherry Bullet, American Disney star, Joahua Bassett, Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez, among other acts of a list of 15 to emerge as number one.
The development comes not long after billboards with Tems on the cover sprung up in four cities in the United States as well as Lagos.
Born 11 june 1995, Tems is a British Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer.
She has been active in the music industry since 2015 and was in 2020 nominated as Headies Next Rated.
