Engr. Wabote who spoke on Tuesday at a Capacity Building Workshop organized for Staff of the NTA by the NCDMB in Abuja, also called on the management of the television authority to embrace other technological innovations to help improve its quality of programming.

“I am enthused by some of the giant strides of NTA like the digitization of your operations, including the partnership with Beijing Star Group that gave birth to StarTimes which delivers excellent, technology-driven digital public service and pay TV services in Nigeria.

“I wish to encourage NTA Management to build on these achievements and embrace other emergent technologies and techniques of broadcasting and use them to improve the quality of your programs,” he said.

The ES while declaring the training aimed at promoting good media ethics amongst reporters and on-air personalities open, further noted that the workshop showed the commitment of the NTA in ensuring high performance.

“This workshop shows that NTA management is forward thinking and realizes that constant training and retraining is the only way to build a high performing workforce.

“Trainings like this would position NTA to be the TV station of choice for anyone desirous of authoritative and well-balanced information on Nigeria and Nigerians,” he added.

On his part, Director General of the NTA Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, appreciated the NCDMB boss for sponsoring the workshop, and hailed him for his achievements in promoting local content in the country.

“Let me appreciate the Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote FNSE and the entire Board for sponsoring this Capacity Building Training.

“This is part of the Board’s mission which is about building in-country capacities and also a pillar of the Board’s 10 Years Strategic Roadmap.

“Capacity Building involves training and retraining, this is a critical aspect of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) agenda, especially in this era of Social media,” the NTA boss added.
