Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has expressed joy over the possibility of making his 100th international appearance for the team when they square up against Central Africa Republic (CAR) in a make or break 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The Fatih Karagümrük winger will join the centurion club if featured in the match in Duoala, Cameroon on Sunday.
“I’m happy that I am about to win my 100th cap, which definitely is a thing of joy and pride for any football player at international level,” he said
Recall that Musa was thought to have reached a milestone appearance for the Eagles in a world cup qualifier against Cape Verde last month, prompting the President of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Mr. Amaju Pinnick to announce a cash reward for any player who reaches a 100 cap.
The former Leicester City attacker despite looking forward to earning his 100th cap for Nigeria at senior level, says he is more concerned with the Super Eagles taking all three points in the Day 4 encounter.
“I am more concerned about the three points. The three points here have become much more precious due to what happened in the first leg which we lost.
“The individual honour is welcome but I am more concerned about collective glory and our country’s pride,” he added.
Musa made his debut for the national team when he came in as a substitute during a 2-0 win over Madagascar in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
