Chief Executive Officer, CTS Automotive Gmbh, Eddie Forkert, said as technical partner to the Nigerian Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), it role was to fabricate, supply and deliver equipment on demand.

He said this is part of a nationwide project to establish mechatronic workshops and training centres in every geo—political zone in Nigeria, and subsequently every state of the Federation.

He added that the project will also work with Mechanical Engineering Departments of Nigerian Universities in a bid to increase the penetration of technology into Nigeria.

“CTS has set up mechatronic workshops in Federal University of Technology Bauchi, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and University of Ibadan through the Council’s initiative. CTS informed that prior to the agreement with the Council, it had had engagements in Nigeria with supply of equipments to Bola Ige Mechatronics Institute in Esa Oke Osun State,” he said.

He further disclosed that CTS Automotive was scheduled to make 10 cargo shipments, with each cargo weighing 10 tonnes, which its delivery will be concluded by April 2022 and installation scheduled to commence in June 2022.

Forket urged Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Yusuf Tuggar, to communicate the growing interest of German companies, expressing desire to embark on similar projects in Nigeria, but are apprehensive of the consistency of the Nigerian economic policies.

Responding, Tuggar re-assured the CTS management of the Federal Government’s commitment to guarantee seamless policies that will continue to draw investment interest into Nigeria.

The Nigerian Ambassador had recently inspected a cargo shipment of equipments and tools bound for Nigeria to appraise the consignment and ensure that the existing agreement between the NADDC and CTS Automotive derives dividend for Nigeria at utmost standard.
