After a 1-1 draw in the first-leg encounter in Spain, Manchester United fans had banked on Ronaldo’s firepower to send them into the quarterfinal.
However, things did not go as expected as Renan Lodi’s 41st minute strike condemned Manchester United to defeat as they crashed out 2-1 on aggregate.
According to the report on UK Sun and Mirror, Cristiano Ronaldo was caged against Atletico Madrid and failed to get an effort on goal at Old Trafford.
With the defeat against Atletico Madrid, it means Manchester United will be finishing the ongoing season without a trophy as they are also out of the Premier League title race. Cristiano Ronaldo on the other hand has won at least one title every season in the last 12 years of his career.
