1. As part of efforts geared towards lifting 100m Nigerians from poverty in the next 10 years, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed an increase in the number of N-Power beneficiaries.

Confirming the development, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq said the order directed the increase of N-Power beneficiaries from 500, 000 to 1,000,000.

2. A high power delegation dispatched by President Muhammdu Buhari to Maiduguri has delivered a message of condolence and solidarity with the government and people of the state over the killing of 43 farmworkers.

Members of the high-level officials led by Senate President Ahmed Lawan and President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari were drawn from the Executive and Legislative arms of government.

3. The United Nations on Monday recanted an earlier claim that 110 farmers were killed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Zabarmari community, Borno State.

In a new release on Monday, the UN said its initial statement was inaccurate. The UN’s head, public information, said the earlier numbers quoted by Mr Kallon were not correctly sourced.

4. In a related development, No fewer than thirty-eight more corpses were on Monday, recovered from the scene of Saturday’s onslaught on farmers by Boko Haram Insurgents in Borno State.

“The army restricted us from capturing the scene with our phones; they know what they are doing, and they know they will be exposed. Today alone, 38 bodies were recovered and it will continue tomorrow, the source was quoted saying,” a source confided to Sahara Reporters

5. Defence Spokesperson, John Enenche, has admitted that fresh ideas on how to prosecute the war against terrorism in the country cannot come from service chiefs but from junior officers and junior commanders on the field.

According to him, The military operates a bottom-up system in which ideas radiate from the bottom, especially rank-and-file to junior officers and field commanders.

6. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has said the campaign to put an end to atrocities of banned Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) began in the lower chamber.

Speaking at a legislative conference with the theme: “Legislative investigative powers: Expectations, challenges and way forward” in Abuja, Gbajabiamila said: said: “The #End- SARS movement started on the floor of the House where we passed a resolution calling on the Federal Government to scrap SARS.”

7. Operatives of Nigeria intelligence service and anti-corruption agents, Monday evening, arrested Abdulrasheed Maina in Niger Republic.

Maina, report says, was arrested based on an existing mutual relationship and security agreement between the two countries.

8. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the Presidency over remarks by President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide, Garba Shehu on Boko Haram killing of rice farmers in Borno State.

PDP accused the Presidency of trying to rationalize the gruesome killing of 43 innocent Nigerians by the insurgents in their farms.

9. The National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to take urgent action as Ghanaian authorities commenced another round of closure of shops belonging to Nigerian traders on Monday.

Dr Ken Ukaoha, the National President of NANTS, who made the call in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, explained that the entire process showed Ghana’s decision to undermine trade and economic integration process in ECOWAS.

10. The Federal Government (FG) through the Ministry of Interior, on Monday, provided an update on the ongoing recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The Ministry informed the general public that the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for recruitment into the NIS would hold on December 7.
