The Nollywood industry has been dealt with a heavy blow following the demise of two of its actors.
The news of the death of veteran actor, Saint Obi, filtered into the cyber space last night after been confirmed by various sources.
The actor reportedly died last Sunday at the home of one of his siblings.
It is said that, the disagreement among his siblings affected the news being made public.
As at the time of filing this report, there was no official statement on where and cause of the actor’s death.
Barely 24 hours after the death of Saint Obi, a popular actor and filmmaker, Murphy Afolabi, has reportedly died.
The thespian, who acted in Yoruba movies, was said to have fallen down in the bathroom at his house in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Sunday morning, May 14, 2023.
A filmmaker and the President of the Yoruba Movies Directors Guild, Seun Olaiya, shared the sad news on a WhatsApp platform populated by filmmakers.
Showbiz personality and the convener of the Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, also confirmed the news to our correspondent. He said, “It is true. He passed away after taking a fall in his bathroom at his house in Ikorodu this morning.”
