Goals scored by two Nigerian International – Terem Moffi and Samuel Chukwueze during the just concluded UEFA Europa Conference League have been listed for Goal of the Season.
Both play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
According to the organisers, while Moffi was nominated for his overhead kick in OGC Nice’s 2-2 draw against Basel, Villarreal winger Chukwueze, made the shortlist for his goal in the Yellow Submarine’s 4-3 win over Bulgarian club, Lech Poznań.
They are in contest just as West Ham United duo Jared Bowen and Declan Rice as well as Lazio star, Ciro Immobile.
The other nominees are; Erdogan Yesilyurt (Sivasspor), Christian Kouame (Fiorentina) and Riccardo Saponara (Fiorentina).
The winner is expected to be selected through fans’ votes.
The declaration is being awaited days after Premier League side West Ham United won the competition, after beating Italian Serie A club Fiorentina 2-1.
