Tunisia defeated Kenya 3–1 in Group B’s second match to stand any chance of progressing to the next phase of the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This came after the North Africans came from behind to claim a much-needed victory at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.
After a narrow opening-day defeat to Nigeria, Tunisia entered the match desperate to avoid a second successive loss.
Their response was emphatic in the second half, as goals from Omar Ben Ali and Alaeddine Derbali secured all three points for the North Africans.
Kenya had struck first in a lively encounter.
The group is now tightly contested, with Morocco and Nigeria having four points apiece.
Meanwhile, Nigerian coach Aliyu Zubairu has said his side’s target is to defeat Kenya in their last group encounter to stand a brighter chance of progressing to the next stage of the competition.
