Africa’s representatives – Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco and South Africa, have been placed in various groups at the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled for Chile.

While Nigeria are in Group F alongside Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Norway, Egypt are in Group A.

The Young Pharaohs will face Chile, New Zealand and Japan.

For Morocco in Group C, they will tango with Mexico, Brazil and Spain.

In Group E are USA, New Caledonia, France and South Africa.

The draw ceremony took place in Santiago, Chile, in the early hours of Friday.

Nigeria finished third at the last U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) a few weeks ago.

This year’s AFCON host – Egypt were placed fourth, just as South Africa finished the overall best, with Morocco placing second.

Tough Battle for Morocco

Moroccans, in the toughest group, will face an uphill task as Mexico, Spain and Brazil come into the tournament as champions of their respective continents.

New Caledonia is the only country that will debut at the tournament scheduled for 27th September – 19th October.

Chile will host the biennial competition from 27 September – 19 October 2025.

Group A: Chile, New Zealand, Japan, Egypt.
Group B: Korea Republic, Ukraine, Paraguay, Panama.
Group C: Brazil, Mexico, Morocco, Spain.
Group D: Italy, Australia, Cuba, Argentina.
Group E: USA, New Caledonia, France, South Africa.
Group F: Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Nigeria.
