Four countries including Morocco, are battling to host the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
Others vying to host the prestigious tournament are Spain, Brazil, and the United States.
The current edition of the Club World Cup, expanded to 32 teams, is ongoing in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
By 2029, the tournament is expected to grow to a 48-team format, making it the largest edition in its history.
Morocco sees the 2029 tournament as a perfect opportunity to conduct a large-scale test ahead of co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal.
Interestingly, Spain has also expressed interest in staging the 2029 Club World Cup, further intensifying the sporting rivalry between both nations.
The two countries are already locked in a dispute over the venue for the 2030 World Cup final, with Morocco proposing the Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane, while Spain favours the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid.
The United States, hosting the expanded tournament for the first time this year, is seeking to bring the event back in 2029.
Brazil has also entered the race, aiming to host the Club World Cup for the first time in its history, completing the list of four contenders for the tournament.
