The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the official slogan for the 13th Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for Morocco.
This was disclosed in a statement by CAF via its official website.
Part of the statement reads, “The Confédération Africaine de Football (‘CAF’) is proud to announce the official tournament slogan for the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Morocco 2024: Born Winners.
“This brand expression celebrates the fearless, powerful, and purpose-driven women who are shaping the future of African football.
“The bold slogan is more than just a rallying cry, it is a declaration of identity. Born Winners is a tribute to the spirit of African women who embody victory, in sport, in society, and in every corner of life.
“Whether as players, coaches, officials, fans, or trailblazers in the media, African women are not merely part of the game, they are leading it. With unmatched passion and purpose, they challenge norms, break barriers, and light the path for generations to come.
“The slogan honours the African women who are the heartbeat of football across the continent. From the streets of Dakar to the stadiums of Johannesburg, from grassroots heroes to global stars, these women rise, relentlessly and fearlessly.
“Born Winners reflects the resilience of the African woman and her spirit of victory that transcends boundaries; sport, society, or life. The 2024 edition of the CAF WAFCON is a celebration of the African woman’s natural drive to conquer challenges, redefine roles, and inspire greatness.”
Meanwhile, Africa’s top women’s football nations are already settling down in Morocco ahead of the highly anticipated tournament, with defending champions South Africa among the first to pitch camp.
Heritage Times HT reports that the 2024 WAFCON, which kicks off on 5 July and runs until 26 July 2025, will see 12 of the continent’s finest sides competing across Moroccan cities in what promises to be a fiercely contested edition of the championship.
