Obviously following in the footsteps of its colleagues in the Red Chambers of Nigeria’s Legislative House, All Progressives Congress (APC) Rep Members on Friday, voted against electronic transmission of election results, amid mixed anxiety on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.
The development now means that the Electoral Act Amendment Bill has now been put to rest, as both Chambers have given their verdict on the Bill, after a rigorous consideration of the Clauses surrounding the Bill.
Meanwhile, opposition Lawmakers who refused to swallow the bitter pill, just as the Majority APC Lawmakers stepped down the controversial section 52(3) of the Bill, staged a walk-out in anger.
The House further adjourned plenary and other parliamentary activities till September 14, following the adoption of a motion for adjournment moved by the Deputy House Leader, Peter Akpatason (APC, Edo).
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila added that the committees on Finance, Appropriations and Agriculture will continue with their works during the recess.
