Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu has been arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja.
Peter was arraigned on Friday before Justice N.K. Nwosu-Iheme on 23 counts bordering on culpable homicide and domestic violence.
He pleaded not guilty to the homicide charge.
After the plea was taken, Justice Nwosu-Iheme, ordered that Peter be remanded in Kuje Correctional Facility, till June 16th for trial.
The judge also ordered an accelerated hearing of the trial.
The Federal Government, in the culpable homicide charge, among several allegations, alleged that the defendant deprived the deceased of her liberty by false imprisonment.
Nwachukwu was equally accused of emotional, verbal and psychological abuse, contrary to section 14(1) of the VAP Act, 2015.
The defendant was said to have denied Osinachi access to her medication, dehumanized her and abused the children of the deceased.
