Canadian rapper, and actor Aubrey Drake Graham has lost massive amount of money on Nigerian-New Zealander professional mixed martial artist (MMA) Israel Mobolaji Adesanya.
Adesanya suffered a shock defeat to Brazilian Alexsandro Pereira in the main event of UFC 281 at Madison Square Garden, New York.
Pereira snatched the win in the fifth and final round with a left hook that sent the former champion to the canvas, and the bout to an end.
Drake – a long-time friend of Adesanya is no stranger to placing outlandish bets, having previously lost £537,000 on Barcelona in this season’s El Clasico against Real Madrid, and winning over £3million on English UFC stars- Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann.
The rapper’s latest bet on Adesanya saw him lose £1.7million, as the Nigerian-New Zealander suffered just a second professional defeat of his UFC career.
He had previously been knocked out by Pereira in a kickboxing match and was caught out by a similar strike in Madison.
