The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has mobilized 66,000 graduates to participate in the 2020 Batch B service year.
Ahead of their admission to camp today, the prospective corps members were mandated to undergo COVID-19 test as part of efforts geared towards preventing a second wave of the virus.
It would be recalled that orientation camps were shut down nationwide in March 2018 to contain the spread of Coronavirus after Nigeria recorded her first index case on the 27th of February 2020.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that Corps members should be enrolled into the National Health Insurance Scheme NHIS.
Announcing the directive to newsmen, the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim said NYSC has concluded arrangement with the NHIS for the enrollment of corps members into the health scheme in line with the presidential directive.
It is worthwhile to note that the National Health Insurance Scheme NHIS is a programme established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve the health of all Nigerians at an affordable cost.
