Senegal have sent Nigeria’s Flying Eagles out of the football event at the ongoing 2023 African Games in Ghana.
Despite scoring first, the Flying Eagles succumbed to the firing power of the 10-man Senegalese team losing the last group match 3-2.
It was Charles Agada who put Nigeria ahead early in the game before Idriss Gueye scored twice to put Senegal in control.
Favour Izuogu levelled the game for Nigeria in the 50th minute before Famara Camara scored from the penalty spot to secure the victory for Senegal.

The Flying Eagles ended their campaign with only one victory against South Sudan, losing their opening match 2-1 to Uganda and 3-2 to Senegal.
Nigeria finished third in the group behind Uganda and Senegal, with South Sudan coming in fourth.
With the loss to Senegal, the Nigerian team finished third in Group B with three points from three matches and could not qualify for the semi-final of the men’s football game.
Nigeria won the men’s football silver at the last African Games in Rabat, Morocco, in 2019 after a 2-0 loss to Burkina Faso in the final.
Meanwhile, Egypt still leads the overall table with 144 medals, followed by Nigeria.
South Africa are currently placed third.
