She was recognized alongside eminent personalities including former President of Nigeria, H.E. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; former President of Botswana, H.E. Seretse Khama Ian Khama; former Vice President of Liberia, H.E. Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor; renowned scholar and founder of the PLO Lumumba Foundation, Prof. PLO Lumumba; as well as other notable Africans and top brands whose work continues to shape Africa’s development trajectory.

An accomplished financial professional with over three decades of experience in financial management, Mrs. Onyechi was honoured for her trailblazing humanitarian initiatives and her sustained commitment to uplifting underserved persons in her community, and in Lagos State. With a proven track record in tax audit, financial modelling, forecasting, and process optimization, she has consistently delivered innovative and cost-effective solutions within the corporate space. She is widely respected for her expertise in analyzing financial systems, strengthening institutional performance, and providing strategic insights that support long-term growth and accountability.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Onyechi has distinguished herself through impactful community outreach, empowerment initiatives, and a strong culture of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She has leveraged her professional success to create opportunities for vulnerable groups, support families in need, and contribute meaningfully to social development efforts. Her recognition at the AFRIHeritage Awards underscores her reputation as one of Africa’s financial experts who combines professional excellence with genuine compassion and service to society.

In her remarks shortly after receiving the award, Mrs. Onyechi expressed gratitude to the organizers and dedicated the honour to the communities she serves. She noted that the true essence of leadership lies in service and that meaningful impact is measured by the many lives transformed. “This award is not about me alone. It is about every underserved child, every struggling family, and every community that reminds us why service matters. True success is not defined by titles or recognition, but by the positive difference we make in the lives of others. I remain committed to using my knowledge, experience, and resources to uplift communities and contribute to Africa’s growth,” she stated.

According to the organizers, Heritage Times HT, the AFRIHeritage Awards was strategically established to celebrate Africans who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields while promoting a positive and progressive image of the continent on the global stage. The platform recognizes individuals whose work has created measurable, sustainable impact in governance, business, philanthropy, financial administration, culture, and social innovation.

The AFRIHeritage Awards continues to position itself as a prestigious platform for celebrating African excellence and honouring individuals whose contributions are shaping a stronger and more globally respected continent.
