Benue State Governor, Samule Ortom cheated death on Saturday, after his convoy was attacked along Tyomu community in Makurdi Local Government Area of the state.
Sources who confirmed the attack to Daily Trust, said Ortom was reportedly returning from Gboko when the incident happened.
Witnesses said there was a heavy exchange of gunfire between the attackers and the governor’s security details, as the governor was lucky to escape unhurt.
The source added that the governor is set to address the media on the incident.
