The Federal Government of Nigeria has received all 12 A-29 Super Tucano fighter jets that were expected from the US.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this on Monday when he featured on a phone-in programme of TV Continental, “This Morning,’’ monitored by Heritage Times.
While describing the fighter jets as a “game-changer,” Lai Mohammed said they have been deployed for operations in the northeast.
“All the 12 Super Tucano fighter jets have been received. As of this morning, all the 12 were here and they have been deployed to the North-East.
“We can see that the Tucano jets are game-changers.

On July 22, the Nigerian Air Force took delivery of the first batch of six of the A-29 Super Tucano airplanes from the U.S.
In October Lai Mohammed said the delivery of the Super Tucano fighter jets expected from the US and their deployment, has changed the tide in the fight against terror in Nigeria.
“The introduction of these platforms have made a whole lot of difference and it has changed the dynamics of the war,” he said.
