A civil society group known as Justice and Accountability For All (JAFA), has reacted to the recent publication in some online platforms which suggested that, a so-called cabal within the leadership of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) was not in support of the Senatorial ambition of Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, the immediate past First Lady of Anambra State.

The group said in a statement titled “Anambra North Senatorial District Election: Who is Afraid of Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano?” signed by Mr. John Ifeanyi and Barrister Camela Jude, National Coordinator and Secretary respectively in Abuja yesterday.

According to the group, “Our attention has been drawn to a publication in one online platform entitled ‘Aguleri Cabal Hijacks APGA, Bars Party Leaders From Identifying With Osodieme’ especially when she went to Abuja to pick the expression of interest form for the party.

“It is a lie from the pit of hell as Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano was accompanied to the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja by party loyalists from Anambra State who are solidly behind her and other well wishers in Abuja”.

JAFA condemned the orchestrated media campaign designed to smear the image of Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano by some faceless online platforms and warned those behind it to desist from such campaign of calumny.

The group described the smear campaign as fake and 66 “false, fabricated lies, mirage and a pigment of the imagination of the writers”.

The statement added that “the evil report emanated from those who are afraid of Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano’s rising popularity and for the fact that she has a grassroots support as a result of the impacts of her humanitarian projects among the women and youths when she was the first lady of the state for eight years.”

The CSO added that “It is evident that, the interest for the Anambra North Senatorial District election Intensifies among the contenders, the reality has become too obvious that, the fear of Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, Anambra State’s immediate past First Lady, has become the beginning of political wisdom among major stakeholders.

“Despite all the lies being peddled by some faceless groups against Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, her popularity will continue to soar over and above her opponents and traducers”, the statement said.
