The latest visitor is the national leader of APC and a frontline presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who on Monday condemned the violent attack on the innocent worshippers, describing it as evil that must be defeated.

While stating that there is no place for what he called hatred and wanton killing of innocent souls in the country, Tinubu during a condolence visit to the Palace of Olowo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye assured that he will work with the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu to alleviate the pains of the victims’ relatives and the injured ones.

He therefore announced the donations of sum of N50million and N25million to the victims and St. Francis Catholic Church respectively.

At the scene of the incident where he had gone for on-the-spot assessment of the situation, the former Lagos State Governor who was visibly sad, noted with grief, the magnitude of loss recorded, stating that South West has not witnessed such horrendous attack.

The presidential hopeful therefore appealed to the federal and state governments to synergise and increase efforts to ensure that citizens across the country are protected.

While expressing gratitude to Tinubu for bringing his campaign train to a halt in less than 24 hours to the presidential primary election of the APC, Akeredolu vowed that the perpetrators of the heinous crime will not go unpunished.

According to the governor, the state government is committed to either taking justice to the killers or bringing them from their hiding place to face the full wrath of the law.

Former Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, former Chairman of EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu were in Tinubu’s entourage.

Recall that the nation was thrown into mourning on Sunday following the unprovoked attack by the gunmen on hapless worshippers mostly women and children.

They were said to have opened fire on the worshippers in addition to an explosive detonated at the centre, leaving behind them a trail of blood, tears and sorrow.
