Nigerian Commonwealth Games women’s Long Jump champion, Ese Brume, has won a bronze medal in an event at the Palio Città Della Quercia meet in Rovereto, Italy.
It was Brume’s first action back on the field since reclaiming the Commonwealth Games title in Birmingham.
After two attempts, the Nigerian had placed second place, jumping 6.37metres.
But that was not to earn Brume a silver medal as she finished 3rd in the contest, jumping a mark of 6.53metres on her 5th attempt.
Her 6.53 metres jump was far from her record-breaking 7.00metres jump at the last Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she won a Gold medal.
Former European U20 long jump champion and Serbian Mili a Gardasevic won the event, as she leapt a mark of 6.78m, while Jasmine Sawyers of England jumped 6.73m to secure the 2nd spot.
Brume’s compatriot and global Queen of hurdle, Tobi Amusan, has been unveiled as Brand Ambassador of a bank based in Nigeria.
The World, Africa and Commonwealth Games records holder disclosed this on her Twitter account on Wednesday.
“Hello iHurdlefam, I am beyond excited to announce my partnership with the @thepremiumtrust Family! PTB X TOBI is official!”, the 25 years World Champion said.
The Bank corroborated her post in their tweet saying, “Together we can support each other as we are committed to helping individuals achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations.

Tobi Amusan is the current African, Commonwealth and World Champion in the 100m hurdles as well as the record holder in the three competitions.
She became the first Nigerian world champion in an athletics event when she won the 2022 World Athletics Championships 100 metres hurdles gold medal, setting a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, followed up by 12.06 seconds in the final to take the gold medal.
She won back to back African and Commonwealth titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100m hurdles and is also a two-time African Games champion in the event.
She won the Diamond League Trophy in Zurich in 2021 in the 100m hurdles becoming the first Nigerian to do so, also breaking the then African Record held by Glory Alozie in the process
