A police officer was carried away on a stretcher after he fainted while he was standing guard during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday.
He collapsed before the funeral procession strolled down the Mall and he fell by Parliament square.
The Mirror reported that his state is unknown, however, his condition does not seem critical.
The event occurred just as guards were starting to change positions, and he looked to be swaying before falling moments later. Two of his colleagues rushed to help him just before the medics arrived.
Recall that a royal guard who was standing by the monarch’s coffin while she was lying in state at Westminster Hall, on September 14 also fell while on duty.
The Queen’s funeral is currently taking place, over 10 days after her death on September 8.
Dignitaries, politicians from around the world as well as many members of the royal family paid tribute to her long reign and life.
